ABOUT ME

I am Franchette (Fran-shay) O'Neal and I have a bachelor's degree in Multimedia Film Production with a minor in Journalism and a master's degree in Communications. I am from Seoul, South Korea, but I was born in the Philippines. Because my father, a GS alumni, was in the military, my family and I moved to different places in the United States and to other countries like Japan and Germany. My hobbies include writing, videography, watching films, and painting.

I am a Collegiate Emmy Award Winner and Nominee for my videography with Georgia Southern GATA Productions where our broadcasts are aired on ESPN+. Other awards I have won include a spot in the Top 16 Films for GS's 2017 Campus Movie Fest, first place in the 2018 GS CURIO Symposium, and various awards from the annual Media Arts Showcase held by GS's Communication Arts Department.

My career goal is to work in the film industry as a director or writer. However, because of the skills I've acquired in college, I am also capable of leadership positions, sports broadcast, acting, designing sound and audio for films, and photography. My minor in journalism supplements my major in that it satisfies my curiosity with current events around the world and my desire to stay informed.
